Indian Non-Veg Recipe - Chicken Rasam

Chicken Rasam


Ingredients :


1 small chicken
(fry a little in the open fire take out only inner portions cut into small pieces)
2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp lemon juice salt as per taste
grind into paste
1 cup onion, chopped
1 tsp dhania


Method :


Heat ghee in a pan
Add the grounded masala and let it cook for 5-6 minutes
Add chicken pieces with 1 litre of water
Boil for some time
Add salt and lemon juice
Serve hot

1 halved cup fresh strawberries
2 cut up fresh apricot
2 bananas
6 ounce fresh raspberries

Indian Snack Recipe - Egg Noodles

Egg noodles

Preparation time : - 15 minutes
Serves : - 2

Ingredients: -
1 packet plain noodles,
1 egg,
1 onion,
2 tablespoons tomato juice,
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste,
1 teaspoon pepper powder,
1 teaspoon chilly powder,
½ teaspoon garam masala (hot spice mix),
1 tablespoon oil and
salt to taste.


Method :-

Slice the onion into small pieces and keep it aside.
Now take a big pot and pour ½ liter water into it.
Bring it to boil.
When it is boiling add the noodles to it and then cook for three to five minutes. When the noodles are done remove from lame and drain all the water.
Now take a frying pan and heat a little oil in it.
When the oil is very hot add the onions and sauté till golden brown.
Now add the ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, chilly powder, garam masala and fry briefly.
Add the egg and scramble it till all the ingredients blend well with it.
Pour in the tomato juice and cook for a minute.
Sprinkle salt to taste and then add the noodles.
Mix it all up and then remove from flame.
Garnish with fried onions and serve.

Indian Dal Recipe - Split Red Gram Dal

Split Red Gram Dal


Serves: 4 
Cooking time (approx.): 32 minutes


Ingredients :


1  cup(s) split red gram (tuvar dal) 
1  tomato(es) chopped finely 
2  tablespoon(s) oil 
1  teaspoon(s) each of mustard and cumin seeds 
1  tablespoon(s) finely chopped ginger 
2  green chilli(es) slit 
4  cups water 
4  curry leaves 
½  teaspoon(s) each of asafoetida and turmeric powder 
a squeeze of lemon, jaggery and 
salt to taste 


Method :


Soak the split red gram in water for about an hour. 
Add turmeric powder, salt and a drop of oil to the gram along with the water in which it was soaked. 
Now, heat on medium level till it comes to a boil and then on low level for about 20  minutes or till the gram is fully cooked.
Heat oil in a pan till it is hot and drop in the mustard seeds followed by the cumin seeds and then asafoetida. Fry on medium level for about 2  minute(s) till the seeds splutter. 
Add this to the cooked red gram and let it come to a simmer.
Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 10  minutes.
Serve hot with: Green Peas Rice (Matar Pulav), white rice or Indian bread (Roti).

Indian Soup Recipe - Cream of Vegetable Soup

Cream of Vegetable Soup

Cooking time (approx.): 13 minutes

Ingredients :

200  grams (about 8  oz.) mixed vegetables (beans, carrots, potatoes) finely chopped. 
1  medium onion(s) chopped 
2  tablespoon(s) butter 
1  tablespoon(s) plain flour (maida) 
4  teacups milk 
1  teacup(s) water 
salt and pepper to taste 

Method :

Boil the vegetables in water on medium heat for about 6  minutes or till tender and cooked.
In a pan, heat butter on medium level for a few seconds. 
Add the chopped onions and fry for about 3  minutes or till onions are transparent.
Add the flour and milk. Stir well. 
Now add the vegetables and water. 
Mix well and keep on medium heat for about 4  minutes. 
Season with salt and pepper.
Serve hot with: croutons.
