Indian Cake Recipes - Apple Custard Cake





Apple Custard Cake 

Ingredients

For the cake:
200g Butter.
¾ cup Brown Sugar.
2 Eggs.
2 cups Self Raising Flour.
½ cup Buttermilk.
2 large Apples.
20g Butter, melted.
2 tsp Caster Sugar.
½ tsp Ground Cinnamon.

For the custard:
2 Tbsp Custard Powder.
¼ cup Caster Sugar.
1 cup Milk.
20g Butter.
Vanilla Essence.
2 Apples, sliced.

Method :

Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
Prepare the cake tin: line the base with baking paper, grease the sides.
To make the custard: Put the custard powder & sugar in a small saucepan, over a medium to low heat
Combine the milk & stir rapidly until the mixture thickens.
Remove from heat, stir in the butter & essence. 
Cool with plastic wrap over the surface.
To make the cake: Beat the butter & brown sugar until fluffy, add the eggs one at a time.
Mix in a little flour after each egg to prevent curdling.
With the beaters stir in the remaining flour & the buttermilk until combined.

Valentine Special - Heart Cake






SWEETEST HEART CAKE RECIPE


Ingredients :

1 (8 inch) Round Cake (any flavor) 
1 (8 inch) Square Cake (any flavor) 
16 oz Vanilla Frosting (pink colored) 
1 large White Gumdrop 
1-1/2 cup flaked Coconut (tinted pink to match frosting) 
2 large Red Gumdrops 
Granulated Sugar 
Red Chewy Fruit Snack 

Method :

Reduce round cake into two equal semi-circles.
Place square cake and semi-circles on serving plate.
Connect with some frosting.
Frost entire cake with remaining frosting.
Drizzle it with coconut.
Flatten 1 red gumdrop with rolling pin on slightly sugared surface.
Make and cut out heart shape with cookie cutter.
Repeat it with remaining red gumdrop and white gumdrop.
Place 3 gumdrop hearts on cake, overlapping slightly.
Cut chewy fruit snack into 1/2-inch strips.
Tie strips into loose bow and place on cake.

Indian Cake Recipe - Dark Chocolate Cake




Dark Chocolate Cake

Prep time:  10 min
Cook time:  60 min
Serves: 14

Ingredients :

1 spray(s) cooking spray   
2 cup(s) all-purpose flour   
1 1/3 cup(s) sugar   
1 1/2 tsp baking soda   
2/3 cup(s) unsweetened cocoa   
1/2 cup(s) regular butter, melted   
1 1/2 cup(s) hot water   
1 tsp vanilla extract   
1 cup(s) sauerkraut, pureed until smooth   
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa   


Method :

Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a Bundt pan with cooking spray. 
In a large mixing bowl or in the bowl of an electric mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking soda and 2/3 cup of cocoa. 
Add melted butter, hot water and vanilla extract; mix well. 
Add sauerkraut and blend thoroughly.
Pour batter into prepared pan; bake in center of oven until a tester inserted in center of cake comes out clean, about 55 to 60 minutes. 
Cool cake in pan for about 20 minutes and then turn out onto a baking rack to cool completely. 
Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder before slicing into 14 pieces. 
Yields 1 slice per serving.

Notes
You can easily change the flavor of this cake by adding strong coffee instead of the hot water or adding cayenne pepper and cinnamon with the vanilla.

Countdown for 2012 - Countdown Cheese Cake






Countdown Cheesecake Recipe


8-10 Servings 

Prep : 20 min. + chilling Bake: 10 min. + cooling

Ingredients :

1-1/2 cups cracker crumbs
3 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted

FILLING:

2 cartons (8 ounces each) spreadable strawberry cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Red decorating gel
1 fresh strawberry, halved

Method :

In a bowl, combine the cracker crumbs, sugar and butter. 
Press onto the bottom and 1 in up the sides of a greased 9-in. springform pan. 
Bake at 325° for 10 minutes; cool.
In a bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. 
Fold in the whipped topping. 
Gently spread a third of the filling over crust. 
Arrange strawberries on top. 
Spoon remaining filling over berries; smooth top. 
Refrigerate overnight.
With decorating gel, pipe numerals and the minute and hour hands for a clock dial on the cheesecake. 
Place strawberry halves at the tips of the clock hands.

Indian Dessert Recipe : Apple Cake With Almonds !




Apple Cake With Almonds (Badam)

Ingredients :

Sugar  - 2/3 cup 
Butter   - 1/2 cup 
Eggs  - 2 large 
Lemon juice   - 2 tblsps 
Flour, all-purpose   - 2 cups 
Baking powder   - 2 tsps 
Salt   - 1/4 tsp 
Raspberry preserves   - 1/4 cup 
Apples peeled, sliced  - 3 1/2 cups 

 For Topping :

Almonds ground  - 1 cup 
Sugar   - 1/2 cup 
Sour cream dairy  - 1/2 cup 
Eggs beaten  - 2 large 
Flour, all-purpose   - 2 tblsps 
Lemon zest grated  - 1 tsp 

 For Glaze :

Powdered sugar  - 1/4 cup 
Lemon juice   - 1 tsp 

Method :

1.Heat oven to 375 degrees F. 

2.Grease and flour 9 or 10 inch springform pan.

3.Mix  2/3 cup sugar and butter and  beat until  creamy

4.Add 2 eggs and 2 tblsps of lemon juice; beat until well In a small bowl combine 2 cups flour, baking powder, and salt

5.Add to egg mixture; beat at low speed until well blended.

6.Spread in prepared pan. Then spoon preserves over batter; carefully spread to cover.

7.Top with apple slices; slightly press into batter.

8.In medium bowl, combine all topping ingredients; blend well Bake at 350 degrees F. for 55 to 65 minutes or until apples are tender, edges are light golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

9.Cool 10 minutes, then carefully remove sides of pan.

10.In small bowl, blend all glaze ingredients until smooth; drizzle over cake.

11.Serve warm or cool.

Indian Dessert Recipe - Strawberry & Basil Sundae



Strawberry & Basil Sundae


Ingredients :

2 scoops strawberry ice-cream
200 gm fresh strawberry
1 tbsp basil leaves (finely chopped)
20 gm caster sugar
whipped cream for garnish


Method :

Dice the strawberries into fours.
Mix them with sugar and basil leaves.
Thaw the ice-cream and layer the bottom of a tall glass with it.
Add it fresh strawberries.
Keep repeating the layering process till the glass is full.
Top it up with whipped cream and serve.

Indian Weekend Recipe - Apple Pudding Cake


Apple Pudding Cake


Ingredients :

Apple ( peeled, cored and chopped ) - 2 cups 
White sugar  - 1 cup 
Egg - 1
Vanilla extract  - 1 tsp 
All-purpose flour  - 1 cup 
Baking soda  - 1 tsp 
Ground cinnamon  - 1 1/2 tsps 
Chopped walnuts  - 3/4 cup 
Raisins  - 3/4 cup 
Brown sugar  - 1/2 cup 
White sugar  - 1/2 cup 
All-purpose flour  - 2 tblsps 
Water  - 1 cup 
Butter  - 1/2 cup 
Vanilla extract  - 1 tsp 
Chopped walnuts  - 1/2 cup 
Raisins  - 1/2 cup 

Method :

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 

2.Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan. 

3.Mix together  apples and sugar together and set aside until sugar is thoroughly dissolved, about 8 minutes. 

4.Stir egg and vanilla into apple mixture. 

5.Sift together flour, baking soda and cinnamon; stir into apple mixture.

6. Fold in nuts and raisins. Pour batter into prepared pan. 

7.Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. 

8.Pour topping over cake while cake is still hot. 

For the Topping

1. In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar and 2 tblsps flour. 

2.Stir in the water and cook over medium heat, stirring, until mixture boils and thickens. 

3.Remove from heat and stir in butter, vanilla, chopped walnuts and raisins.

4. Stir until butter melts, then pour over cake.
